Anthony Joshua and Andy Ruiz to fight on a neutral ground

Andy Ruiz Jr. looks set to defend his heavyweight titles in Saudi Arabia against Anthony Joshua in a highly anticipated rematch.

After plenty of back-and-forth chatter about where the highly anticipated Andy Ruiz Jr.-Anthony Joshua rematch would take place, there’s finally a confirmation — and it’s a neutral location.

On Friday, Matchroom Boxing announced that Ruiz will be defending his unified WBO/IBF/WBA (Super) heavyweight titles against Joshua at Diriyah, Saudi Arabia on Dec. 7.

Ruiz shocked the world June 1, entering Madison Square Garden in New York City as a huge underdog, before dropping Joshua four times en route to stunning seventh round technical knock out to become the first Mexican heavyweight champion in boxing history.
