Manchester City demolish West Ham 5-0

Pep Guardiola’s squad this afternoon signaled their rivals that they will be strongly defending their title as they demolished West Ham 5-0 in a match dominated by the video assistant referee (VAR). The goal margin sent City straight to the top of the table, toppling Liverpool who were in the league yesterday after beating Norwich City 4-1.

Raheem Sterling scored a hat-trick while Gabriel Jesus and Aguero were also on target.

VAR was used in disallowing a goal that would have been Gabriel Jesus’s second goal and it was used to award a penalty for City, but the spot kick was missed by Aguero.
