The Daily Mail believes that Christian Eriksen will be offered a new contract in which he will double his salary. Eriksen has publicly stated his desire to leave and seek a new challenge, and have a new experience. The only problem is that nobody has indicated strong interest in Eriksen.
Last summer Spurs chairman Daniel Levy was demanding 130 million for the Danish star. This put off any prospective buyers.
It was widely speculated that he was a target of Real Madrid. The appointment of Zinedin Zidane seems to have ended that idea.
The problem is that he now enters the last 12 months of his contract with Tottenham. Spurs now run the risk of Eriksen leaving as a free agent next summer.
His current contract earns him a £80,000 weekly wage. The proposal from Spurs is a new contract where he will see his salary go as high as £200,000 a week.
